Hello friends, artists, art lovers!

The April issue of Artist's Magazine contains a lovely article about Rob's work. Congratulations, Rob! You made the cover... well, actually I did, but we won't get into it. Anyway, the issue just came out in bookstores a few days ago. If you plan on getting it, you'll have to be quick because we're hearing that most places only carry a few copies.

Art League of Virginia: Artistic Anatomy-Drawing
March 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 2007
This class offers students a comprehensive overview of anatomy through drawing. Both muscles and bones will be explored and students will draw the muscles and their attachments. There will be frequent discussions and demonstrations on the nature, orientation and function of the human figure's anatomy. It is suggested that students bring along an anatomy diagram or book in addition to their art materials to help follow along. Rob to speak at the Portrait Society Conference in Reston, Virginia
May 2007

On Saturday May 5th Rob will be giving a short talk at the 2007 annual Portrait Society conference on his work and influences. It begins at 9:00 AM and it is entitles "Drawing from the Masters, My Work and Influences." Rob is also working on a portrait sketch of the director of the National Portrait Gallery to be highlighted at this event.

Art League of Virginia: Classical Painting in the Cinquecento manner

Students will explore the extraordinary style and technique of 16th century oil painting with an emphasis on Raphael. Students will paint from the model and demonstrations will be offered illustrating the various ways the classical manner can be evoked in contemporary painting. Rob to teach ecorche (sculpture anatomy) workshop again at Studio Incamminati
July 2007

Rob has been a frequent guest teacher at the Incamminati s
chool in Philadelphia teaching figure painting and drawing, and ecorche. He is scheduled to teach a five day course from July 30th through August 3rd. The school's emphasis is on classical realism. For more information go to www.studioincamminati.org.

Florida Portrait workshops Scheduled for February 2008
The two January 2007 workshops near Sarasota Florida were a great success. Two more three-day portrait painting workshops are scheduled for February of 2008: Longboat Key Center for the Arts will host the first class focusing on intensive color on February 15, 16, and 17. The second class will take place at ArtCenter Manatee in Bradenton February 22, 23, and 24 and will focus primarily on finishing techniques. The two workshops are designed to work in conjunction with one another but can also be taken independently. Please contact the art centers for further information.
